On the morning of July 31, the launching ceremony of the high-performance alumina fiber project and the foundation laying ceremony of the high-performance alumina fiber industrial park were held in Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone. Li Kuan Duan, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Chen Dai Rong, Director of the National Colloid Materials Engineering and Technology Research Center, and Vice President of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shandong University, Chen Haijun, a national key talent engineering expert and professor of Nankai University, Wang Xiaojun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, Gou Zengjie, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary General of the Municipal Party Committee, Chang Huaicheng, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of the Development Zone, and Jing Liangxiao, Chairman of Dongheng National Fiber Corporation, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

Dongheng National Fiber High-performance Alumina Fiber Project, with a total investment of 600 million yuan and an area of 95 mu, is mainly to build a production line with an annual capacity of 1000 tons of high-performance alumina staple fiber and its products, and a production line with an annual capacity of 100 tons of high-performance alumina continuous fiber products, of which the production capacity of staple fiber products accounts for 7% of the global total production capacity. After the project is fully put into operation, it can realize sales revenue of 1.5 billion yuan and profit and tax of 550 million yuan. At present, the first phase of the project has invested 130 million yuan, and has built a high-performance alumina short fiber production line with an annual capacity of 500 tons, which was successfully completed and put into operation in July 2020. It will give priority to meeting the needs of high-end applications such as domestic defense and military industry, aerospace, automotive industry, and new composite materials.

The high-performance alumina fiber industrial park has a planned area of 510 mu, with a total investment of 6 billion yuan. It will build a batch of high-quality projects in the industrial chain such as terminal high-temperature products, ternary catalytic pads and alumina fiber composites, and form a leading industrial cluster of alumina fiber and composite materials in China. Within five years, it will build a professional industrial park with international competitiveness, achieving an annual output value of 19 to 30 billion yuan.
